Matcha Freak is Growing and Changing
MATCHA FREAKS you might have noticed that we have gone a little internal the past month.Not only are we navigating substantial growth on the daily, we are about to step in to a brand new identity.
I have been working closely with our lifelong designer @buhnbee for the past few months to envision and create the beginnings of what we call our ‘matcha freak universe’.
You see, it is not enough to just sell you really good freaking tea. Our goal is to open your eyes to the magic that it creates, introduce you to where it is born, and teach about the elements that make it possible.
So, with that in mind, we have created an enhanced brand story that digs into the details with the hopes that it expands not only your curiosity, but your passion about tea from Ise, Japan.
✨In the next few months, we will be re-releasing our tins with new packaging and labels. Heat sealed tin foil bags for inside our tins. Sourced from Japan. They are gorgeous.
✨Our website is going to get a major overhaul so that it reflects our detail oriented methodology along with our new brand identity.
✨And we will be finalizing our collection with new loose leaf teas from Ise.
OUR NUMBER ONE GOAL always is ACCESSIBILITY. When we repackage in the coming months, the cost will rise due to added labor because of packaging details, rising international shipping costs and increased cost of goods. But we are going to try our best to maintain affordability ALWAYS.
This rollout will happen in phases. We are self-funded after all, and I believe it is unreasonable to do it all at once. We hope for it to be in a final phase as we close 2025.
Growth takes time. I know startups will tell you different….but we are no startup. I plan on working this job for the rest of my precious life, and I am treating the growth as such with care and room for creative discovery. Sustainability is key 🔑.
As we enter this next phase of matcha freak we plan on shedding things that might be typical of other American matcha brands with the hope that we better honor our Japanese partners. More on that bit coming soon.
